Having made friends with artists from Korea, visited there, studied the language and expecting to return this fall, I watch the news about this country frequently. The loss of so many young people in the sinking of the commercial ferry Sewol off Jindo Island in Korea is being mourned even as justice is demanded by family members and friends. There are numerous artist responses to the disaster, with the theme "we'll remember."
